What is up Nerdslant Nation! I’m here with Brad Rosenberg. He’s one of our newest – he is actually is our newest writer. He just started writing for us a few weeks ago. My name is Joe, better known as Pseudo Joe. And today we’re going to be talking about a movie that Brad wrote a screenplay for. What is the name of the movie? Brad: With the Web in the Front. Cool. And it is about heroin addiction, right? Brad: Yes. And so, without giving too much away obviously,... Read More

Don’t believe the Critics: Suicide Squad is Awesome

The most hyped movie of the summer,  Suicide Squad hit theatres on August 5th.   Since then, there has been nothing but harsh critical reviews, much like DC’s last big movie, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.  A lot of the complaints are similar: choppy editing, lack of a plot, and bad character development.  While I do not think Suicide Squad is nearly as good as I was hoping,  it is still a solid film, definitely worth the obscene cost of movie tickets, as is exhibited by... Kevin Smith Finds Success in Canada

Warning: Spoilers for Yoga Hosers ahead. When one of my editors texted me to ask if I’d like to go to a screening of Kevin Smith’s new film Yoga Hosers with a Q&A session to follow, I politely said, “No, that is quite alright, I have no desire to see my childhood hero’s movie and listen to him speak.”  Actually, it went more like, “Hell yeah! Let me just tell my boss I am leaving early.” Let me tell you, the two plus hours it took me to get... Read More

On July 1, nine new Pokémon from the upcoming Generation VII games, Pokémon Sun and Moon versions, were revealed, complete with English names, typing, Abilities and other details. In keeping with previous entries in the series, the Alola region has its own “starter Bug” line, equivalent to the Caterpie and Weedle families of Generation I’s Kanto region.  These are typically obtainable at the very early portions of the game, and evolve quickly to their later forms.  Starting with the... CW Casts Superman: Makes Wrong Choice

So the news broke yesterday that the CW  had found there new Superman.  That honor will go to Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin.  I will say it again, Tyler Hoechlin will be Superman.  I had to check multiple sources to make sure I was reading that correctly. I was. It is real. The CW has made a huge mistake and missed a big opportunity. There are plenty of people who wanted to see a fresh take on Superman, and I do not necessarily think that is a bad thing.  However, This is... Read More

Game of Thrones, S6 E8 – “No One” Review: How to Bury the Lead

At last, we again have Peter Dinklage, The Most Famous Dwarf in the World, in the credits! But much like last week, this week’s Game of Thrones episode had that mixed bag feeling, but this time the mix was more substantial, with the plot threads making progress toward a resting spot for next week’s Battle of the Bastards. I said progress, but not resolution; Thrones episodes tend to end where they should, for lack of a better phrase. For an arc show, it’s not cruel about... Read More

Gotham, Episode 22 – “Wrath of the Villains: Transference” Review: Will the Real Jim Gordon Please Stand Up?

Warning: The following review contains spoilers from this week’s episode of Gotham. The Finale. The last show of the season. This episode of Gotham was advertised to be pretty wild, and it didn’t disappoint. While we did not get any information on Barnes (Michael Chiklis) or Tabitha (Jessica Lucas), we did get to see what happened to everyone else. The episode picked up right where the last one left off. Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) is “interviewing” Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk) and... Read More

Gotham, Episode 15 – “Wrath of the Villains: Mad Grey Dawn” Review: Heeere’s Eddie!

Warning: The following review contains spoilers from this week’s episode of Gotham. With a bang, the Riddler is born. Ok, so maybe ‘born’ isn’t the right word. Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) has been slowly turning from good-natured punchline to sociopathic killer before our very eyes. Unfortunately for Gordon and friends, no one on the show (besides the Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), but we’ll get to him later) seems to notice any real difference in him. The bomb in the art...
