Since he first watched the Star Wars trilogy at the age of four (the original, not that mess we call the prequels) Steve has been a fan of nerdy movies. While his classmates were playing sports, he was playing Indiana Jones. No movie, however, changed his life more than Jurassic Park, where the character development and masterful use of special effects, both practical and computer generated, changed his perspective of what movies could and should be. Since then, Steve expects that level of excellence in everything he watches and is all too happy to discuss where movies and shows succeed and where they fall short. He currently lives in Denver, Colorado where he likes to get high...13,000ft above sea level on ski lifts that is, then snowboarding back down to the base.

It has been months of waiting, with little news surrounding Star Wars: The Last Jedi other than director shakeups that have been giving fans an uneasy feeling, but fear not: A new trailer for Episode VIII has dropped and I couldn’t be more excited! Spider-Man: Homecoming Entertains But Falls Short as a Reboot

Hollywood appears to have truly reached the nexus of superhero films and, depending on how you look at it, that could be either a good or bad thing. If your favorite comic book superhero is some obscure one-off character, then you’re in luck—you may just get a change to see him or her in a feature-length film. However, if you’re starting to see a pattern where all these characters are falling into the same formulaic storylines and suffering fatigue as a result, brace yourself:... Read More

It’s been five years but fans of the original X-Men can rejoice because Iceman is back in a new standalone comic! Marvel Delivers the Kind of Comic Book Sequel We’ve Been Craving

Warning: The following review contains spoilers from Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2. We’re looking at you, trash-pandas. If there was any doubt that Marvel’s handing DC its ass when it comes to cinematic universes, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 should lay it to rest. The best movies, in my opinion, have a sense of self-awareness poor and mediocre ones lack, and this one knows exactly what it is and fully commits to the bit. Guardians of the Galaxy set an extremely high... Read More

After well over a year of waiting (and one expanded universe holdover movie), we finally have our first look at Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi! As a fan, I couldn’t help but be overwhelmed by the all the feels that were felt upon first viewing. The nostalgia of seeing Mark Hamill reprise his roll of Luke Skywalker, this time with actual dialogue, tears that welling up as the camera zoomed in on Leia (Carrie Fisher), and excitement at seeing the new characters that I grew to love in...
